A brief is an agent on a schedule. You tell it what to look into and how often. Each time it runs, it investigates with the same tools the Triage Agent has (events, signals, issues, stumbles, users, cost, traces, charts, and anything you’ve connected over MCP), writes up what it found, and posts it to Slack. Every brief also lives on the Briefs page with its past runs. A Signal Alert fires when one number crosses a line. A brief does the work you’d do yourself if you had the time: pull the data, compare it with last week, read the conversations behind the numbers, and say what matters. There are three kinds:

Daily Digest

Turn it on and every morning an agent goes through the last 24 hours and compares them with the day before: which signals moved, which issues are still open, what showed up for the first time, and which conversations show the problem. It also calls out anything that would distort the picture, like a noisy signal or a tool that keeps failing. Compact mode posts one-liners with the details in-thread. Turn it on at Settings → Notifications.

Custom briefs

Ask a question once and get the answer on a schedule. Write it the way you’d ask a teammate:
Raindrop saves the question, the schedule, and the destination. On every run the agent investigates against fresh data and posts what it found. In Slack, each post reads as a thread by default: the summary in the channel, each finding as its own reply so someone can respond to it directly, action items last. You can turn the threading off for your org, and Teams or email get the report in one piece. Anything it cites (a stumble, an issue, a signal) is linked. Create one from Briefs → New, or @mention Raindrop in Slack with the request. Open a brief to change the prompt, schedule, timezone, Slack channel, or email recipients, and use Run now to fire it on demand. Schedules are cron expressions, at most once every three hours. Most projects also get a Weekly Digest brief created for them when Slack and a default notification channel are set up (Mondays at 9am, a five-bullet recap of the week). Edit or pause it like any other. Some briefs teams run:
  • Summarize tool error rates each morning
  • Weekly, show me which users churned last week and what issues they hit
  • Every Monday, highlight any new use cases from last week
  • Every day until Friday, report on the checkout-v2 rollout
See Triage Agent → Custom briefs for the Slack syntax.

Change Reports

Connect GitHub and a merge starts a brief. Raindrop works out which agent the pull request changed and how, watches the production traffic that followed, and reports back on whether the new behavior showed up and how users reacted. See Change Reports.
